Japanese company to launch bitcoin-rewarding game

Japanese largest Internet company GMO is about to launch in-game bitcoin rewards system this summer.

Japan’s internet giant GMO Internet Inc. announced the launch of bitcoin-based application for the rewarding in the game, as reported on May 31. The application by the name, CryptoChips, acts as a method of rewarding players for achieving certain goals, and will be solely based on Bitcoin support.

CryptoChips will be first implemented in GMO battle game Shimsical War.

The distribution of cryptocurrency as remuneration within the game application and will be used a remuneration within the game. Company stated that “CryptoChips’’ by be used on the gaming platform and will allow players to receive crypto as a reward within the game.

Such a move is not the first for GMO to venture into cryptocurrency world. Company is running its own exchange and mining operations. What is crucial, it also pays a portion of staff salaries in Bitcoin. Back in March, company’s exchange was able to improve the data security of the Coincheck exchange, during the cross-industry inspection, following January hack of 530 mln dollars.
