More and more traditional investors become involved into the market of digital currencies through private transactions

On October 1, 2018, Bloomberg told its readers that there were changes in the set of the biggest traders of cryptocurrency. At now, the largest transactions exceeding 100,000 USD are being made by institutional investors, not by individuals.

Bloomberg reported that traditional investors (i.e. hedge funds) started showing more activity on the market of digital currency which exceed 220 billion USD at present. The number of private transactions has significantly risen, and the main sellers on the cryptocurrency market started regular planning of token sales instead of holding them or selling them during market movement.

According to Bobby Cho – the global head of trading a unit of DRW Holdings LLC – the violent days of cryptocurrencies are going in the past, and the situation on the market become more and more professional. That seems to correspond with the rising comfort traditional financial institutions feel in this space."

Previously is was reported by Cointelegraph that Bitcoin (BTC) investors and traders held their positions during the summer, and the market of digital currencies seemingly become more stable, according to a study by Chainalysis. “The market seems to have recalibrated after the entry of so many new market participants with different beliefs and expectations than those who held Bitcoin prior to 2017,” the source further reports.
