NASSCOM, trade association of Indian IT, collaborates with Canada's Blockchain Research Institute (BRI) to accelerate the implementation of blockchain technology in India
Canadian government-backed researchers from BRI and Indian NASSCOM have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). According to it, their collaboration will provide the use of blockchain in government and academic institutions.
BRI co-founder Don Tapscott said that this collaboration will induce India to demonstrate the strength of Blockchain. They are also going to establish a research institute for developing of blockchain solutions.
"We see our coalition with Nasscom as a delightful opportunity to nurture the blockchain community in India," Don Tapscott, the BRI’s founder and executive chairman, said. He also added: “We strongly believe that India has the potential to lead the Blockchain revolution.”
The main goal of Canada's BRI is to "build blockchain-based economies around the world". The Institute considers India as the next big frontier for the technology.
The announcement of the partnership happened in time of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's visiting to India.
Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, believe that “Disruptive technologies such as Blockchain and the IOT will have a profound impact in the way we live and work.”
