BMW, Ford, GM and Renault, the leading companies in automobile sphere, want to implement blockchain in cars. They and their technological partners including Bosch and IBM, have established Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative. This is the group which will help to implement the technology. The partners intend to define and develop standards for organization of safe payments, in particular, for rent or car pooling. As TechCrunch informs, with the help of blockchain the group is going to make this sphere more secure, achievable and less money-losing. The new blockchain technology is intended to be used in exchange of data among cars, for example, for verification of means of transport, for confirmation of spare parts authenticity. Unfortunately, these are only plans now. The company representatives cannot call the specific date when the blockchain technology will appear in automobiles.
