Venezuelan Petro gets Satoshi Nakamoto Award in Russia

Venezuelan cryptocurrency El Petro received the Satoshi Nakamoto Prize from Russian Association of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain.

Russian Association of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain (RACIB) presented the Satoshi Nakamoto Prize to Venezuelan cryptocurrency El Petro for its "outstanding contribution to the development of the blockchain industry".

The award ceremony took place in Moscow at the World Trade Center during the international congress Blockchain RF-2018. Venezuelan ambassador Carlos Rafael Faria Tortosa participated in it.

Despite Petro, twelve winners were awarded in different categories during the ceremony.

According to Telesur, last April Oleg Ryazantsev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Russian Federation, visited Venezuela. He discussed the cooperation with Latin America in several spheres, particularly, using of Petro as a form of payment between the countries. Wilmar Castro, vice president for the Venezuelan economic area, had presented the proposal.

Earlier, according to Venezuelan newspaper Cuatro F, Daniel Peña, the executive secretary of the Blockchain Observatory, said that the positive effect of Petro on the economy will be visible in the next six months.

There is a theory that El Petro will give the experience for creating of cryptorub that will surely be in the near future.
