The FIFA World Cup matches will be performed in eleven Russian cities — Ekaterinburg, Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk and Kaliningrad.

And just Kaliningrad will host football fans in the unordinary hotel, where people will be able to pay cryptocurrency for rooms.

According to Business Travel Russia, this service will be provided by Apartments Malina, a company which owns a network of apart-hotels in Kaliningrad. Free-Kassa, online payment system, will allow their clients to pay for the rooms using crypto-currency.

In Kaliningrad there will be matches with the teams of Spain, Belgium, Serbia, England, Switzerland, Croatia, Morocco and Nigeria on Jun. 16, 22, 25 and 28.

Anna Subbotina, Apartments Malina’s manager, said:

“Crypto-currencies are now enjoying increased interest. Gradually they will come into use as a means of payment. And we decided that the fans should be able to pay for our services with the help of this innovative technology. It may very well be that other hotels [are] awaiting our example for the forthcoming football holiday.”
