Rockefeller company confirmed intention to invest in crypto startups

Venture company of Rockefeller family is planning to invest funds in cryptocurrency startups.

Venture company Venrock partly owned by Rockefeller family intends to explore the market of cryptocurrencies. It is going to invest not in cryptocurrencies but in crypto startups. The representative of company informed about it not long ago.

As David Packman, a partner of company, said, while many hedge funds invest in bitcoin and other digital currencies, Venrock adheres to a "more systematic approach". Although the fund can simply buy tokens, the venture company is looking for opportunities to invest in ICO startups, Packman said. The company's partners have already invested in CoinFund, which, in turn, is engaged in crypto-investment. One of the biggest successes of CoinFund is the popular Kik messenger, which last year launched its own cryptocurrency.

The company informed that had already estimated thousands of applicants for investments.

As for Packman, he himself invested own funds in cryptocurrencies and even deals with mining.  His preference is Ethereum.
