RAS representatives proposed Novosibirsk city administration to create a commission for  introduction of blockchain technologies into the city management system. The goal of this idea is to improve the quality of life and the confidence level to the city administration.

According to Mikhail Marchenko, the deputy director scientific research of the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics of the SB RAS, a new commission will analyze the effectiveness of possible using of blockchain technologies in the field of public services. The commission will include members of city administration, RAS representatives, IT experts and members of public organizations.

"Novosibirsk can become a pioneer in blockchain technologies application in order to solve a number of urgent problems," Marchenko believes.

According to the project participants, the city administration is taking the lead in creation of blockchain-based platform for municipal management, in particular, in the fields of housing and communal services, education, food and medicine supplies. The scientist believes that blockchain platform may be an effective instrument for solving  persistent problems of citizens.

In the education field, the system can help to avoid the queues for enrolling children at preschools and schools.

However, such blockchain platform hasn't exist yet. Marchenko noted that the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics of the Siberian Branch of the RAS  is able to give a basis for creation of good city blockchain system.
