The Korea Bank is planning to launch national cryptocurrency

The Central Bank of Korea is going to launch new cryptocurrency soon. The source of this information is Korea Times.

In the nearest future the report about cryptocurrencies research will be published. As it is known from the sources close to the Bank, this report contains the plan of launching of CBDC - the national digital currency.

In its official statement the Bank of Korea gave a confirmation of this information. It declared about “early stage of cryptocurrency studying” and their use in the bank structure. The target working group researches the opportunities of emission of digital currency as well as the potential impact of cryptocurrencies on financial sector of Corea. The Bank is going to publish the detailed information at the end of June.

At the same time the financial regulator of Korea declared that it is too early to disclose details of possible emission of cryptocurrency. He also noted that the financial institute studies the experience of its colleagues all around the world.

The South Korea is not the first in the list of countries planning to launch national cryptocurrencies. This list already includes China, Singapore, Sweden and Japan.
