Germany Works on Major Digital Token Draft Regulations

They promise the document will be ready until this summer

On May 9, 2019, German business news outlet Handelsblatt informed that Germany promise to introduce draft regulations on blockchain bonds not later that this summer.

Thomas Heilmann – the blockchain correspondent at Handelsblatt – revealed that a summary paper of the new legislation already exists. The correspondent stressed that embracing blockchain technology with supportive regulation is necessary and advantageous step for Germany:

“We consider it to be of paramount importance that we bring blockchain technology forward for Germany, specifically in 2019.”

Some time ago, Germany showed itself to be wary of both blockchain and digital currency, including Bitcoin and other tokens. The situation has started to change recently, after German authorities got knowledge about cutting-edge trends.

Frank Schaeffler – the blockchain expert from Germany’s Free Democratic Party – commented: “The national government has finally woken up”. Then he added: “Now things need to move fast. Crypto issuers and investors are looking for a regulated financial marketplace for their activities which we can present on the international stage. Germany has the chance to adopt a key position here.”
