According to available information, the new cryptocurrency will be used for users payments and purchases within the platform. The company is considering this way of making payments. David Markus, the Facebook Vice-president and former PayPal President is presumably being carried out the work on this direction. In May, David Markus led the new division of Facebook in order to develop and implement blockchain solutions within the company. Meanwhile, in February, Marcus said that Facebook did not plan to launch a cryptocurrency payment system on the platform in the nearest future. He referred to a lot of problems related to cryptocurrencies, including high transfer fees and low speed of transaction confirmation.
