EOS blockchain vulnerability

China has reported a crucial vulnerability in the EOS Blockchain that was fixed the same day. 

The largest Internet company in China, Qihoo 360, fetched few highly valuable security risks In the EOS’s blockchain network. Those vulnerabilities would enable the possibility for remote attacks on EOS nodes, as reported on May 29.

Chinese company reported the transfer of this information to EOS team. The EOS main net was not launched until all the security bridges had been eliminated. The vulnerabilities were claimed to be fixed on the same day. 

The unfixed bridge would have allowed the attackers to take the control over digital currency on the EOS network, obtain private keys of the users or initiate the mining activity for various cryptocurrencies.

Qihoo 360 hopes that the disclosure of their discovery will provide the incentives for the blockchain industry and all the involved parties to pay a closer attention to the security and potentially improve the secureness of the whole blockchain industry.

EOS is planning to launch main net on June 2. The reported bridge was not able to apprehend the start of EOS’s blockchain. The current price of the coin is 12 USD at the time of the writing.
